Purpose
This course is designed to ensure that all leaders and governors have read, understood, and can apply the Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2025 guidance. Safeguarding is a legal duty and a moral responsibility, and leaders are accountable for creating a culture where children’s safety and wellbeing are central to every decision.

Requirements
As part of this course, you will be required to read the full KCSIE 2025 guidance and complete a short knowledge check. This process confirms that you have read the guidance in full and that you accept responsibility for applying it in your role as a leader or governor.

All staff in schools and colleges must read KCSIE document each year. This ensures that safeguarding is fully embedded across the organisation.
